Racism on The Bachlorette??

I'm not really sure why I suddenly decided one day to get so upset about racism. I'm a white female that was raised not to look at the color of people's skin...however I get upset about this fairly easily.

I think it all started when I saw a newstory on TV about a black woman (can we even call them black now or is that too offensive??) whom had been arrested for assaulting another shopped and causing a public disturbance (as well as assaulting a police officer). Now, I watched the entire footage of the "crime", and followed the story completely. I was baffled.

To make a long story short, bitch decided that she was going to cut the WHITE woman in line that was in front of her and already checking out. Black bitch causes a scene and starts shoving the woman's things off the conveyer belt (wow srsly? who does that?!). Eventually the police are called because she is causing such a huge ruckus. She is escorted out and it would have ended there, if she hadn't of turned around and shoved the police officer. So, she was arrested. Naturally.

Apparently the bitch decided that she was going to play the race card after she had done something wrong. I remember seeing the demonstrations and obviously the black community coming out to support her claims. I was appalled by the behavior. In the end, she took a plea deal and basically got a slap on the wrist - even though she was obviously guilty. What world is it coming to that someone is caught on TAPE and STILL gets a HUGE slap on the wrist? Imagine if that was a white woman. What would have happened to her? Huge fines, 14 months in jail for assault, etc. But this bitch gets out of it because she claims it was AAALLLL about the color of her skin.

Most recently, I started watching the Bachlorette for kicks. I noticed a blogger writing in the comments (and not just one person, but several) about how the bachlorette AND the producers of the show were racist because they didn't cast that many "different" people. Apparently, it's racism because almost all of the men are white (even though the bachlorette is white and was required to fill out a 'preferences' form). I find this appalling.

I will never understand why black people feel the need to shove slavery, race, and their ignorant views in our faces. Slavery was over 100 years ago. You were never enslaved. Get over it. If you want racism to end, then stop bringing it up over EVERYTHING!!! If you want everyone to stop treating you different, then stop acting like you need special treatment. You are the same as every other person in this world - so act like it!

The day racism ends is the day black people stop using the word Nigger, and slamming down the race card at every opportunity (granted sometimes it really IS racism, but this isn't helping the situation). In about 100 years we're all going to look yellow anyways, so what's the point in dragging it on and continuing to bitch about how unfairly you are treated?

Did it even occur to half of the black population that WHITE/ASIAN/HISPANIC people are ALSO shown unfair treatment? It's called life. It's unfair. Get over it and stop trying to get a pity party.

Oh and a cute quote for you, "You are not a special snowflake, so stop acting like it and get over it!"
