Don't Ask, Don't Tell

We received the survey in the mail, filled it out, sent it back. So the survey WAS sent out to actual military families. We obviously wrote down that we don't care if someone is gay or not, as long as they have my hubby's back. Pretty much how it goes in war. Anyone who has never been to Iraq, has no idea how important that is for our guys.

As per the people claiming that IF this old school law is abolished, that we would need to completely re-organize our housing (etc) to accommodate the gays...srsly, really? There have been gays in the military for decades. They obviously had no issue with being gay living in a normal facility with people, so why bother even segregating them further?

I think what it comes down to is this: If you aren't military, shut the fuck up about your opinion on this. If you are, you are probably smart enough to realize that what they do behind closed doors is none of our business. Hell, it's not like the gays are suddenly going to rape my husband in the shower. Come on now. Get a grip people.

Get rid of the policy, don't change a thing. We're good. Oh, and pay us more assholes. And if anyone is wondering why the actual military members NEVER comment on things like this (except mainly deserters or one signed contract people - aka doing it for the min amount of time), is because they CAN'T. They job is to protect our rights to say whatever the fuck we want to. Not to get involved in random bullshit, and you can all stop fucking protesting near my house - kthx.

PS. We are ARMY, meaning we do the longest tours (3 so far, 15 months each), so if you are Navy or Air Force doing your 4 month long tours - I don't care for your worthless opinions about being in Iraq. Do 3 15 month tours then call me and give your opinion.

PPS. Hubby has been babysitting ROTC recruits and with the mandatory Army Ball coming up, I am still not happy with babysitting 18 yr olds who obviously think it's "cool" to be military. They obviously still know jack shit about the military. Please, get a clue you fucking noobs, it's not all fucking roses!!!
