Fire Marshall - Part 4

I have pictures of the yard, as of when this topic was started. We took pictures after the weed guy came out, to make sure there actually was a difference. Since then we have been pulling, rototilling, and everything else known to man in the backyard. In the front we are chopping bigger weeds, raking and trying to get green grass again.

Here's the link:

I think that's it. There is a whole album of pictures. Since these pictures were taken our grass has slowly died out, and no longer exists. We are spraying it nightly with a sprinkler, but obviously the weed killer has killed the grass and we need to replant. The backyard is weed-free, but you can still see a lot of overgrown plants on the side of the house and along the fence-line.

Just a mess.

I think the idea of the sign is more for my own pleasure. LOL I think it would be hysterical, but yeah, I know it wouldn't really help.

I don't know why they are trying to fine us either. This isn't a small fine, this is pretty big and we just simply can't afford it at the moment. I'm also on a first name basis with the cop that keeps coming by. He's noticed a difference, albeit a small one. The last time he stopped by, he didn't even bother to fine us. But, now we are worrying about the fire marshall.

The rototiller worked out really well, but my hubby says it was a LOT of work and it still costs a chunk of money to rent. So, we rent one once a week, and we're slowly moving the dirt/gravel around. The weeds are almost nonexistant now, but everything is dead - including the tulips I planted in the front.

We're planning on stopping by the fire marshall's office tomorrow. I am still really angry that after all the nonstop work we've done, that they STILL aren't happy. We have been spent every day working outside nonstop. I have blisters on blisters and these morons KNOW that.

Our nice neighbor DID offer to help, but he is so old that I don't want to pester him too much with it. If I can barely handle the heat, then I don't want him to handle it. He's about 60 yrs old. In a previous post, I mentioned that the ROTC cadets and my brother-in-law came out to help - but after seeing all the work, they lasted only a day maybe 2 days.

The fire marshall DOES have a case. It IS a fire hazzard now. Now that everything is dead, since it's a the fire season, I CAN see how it will be a fire hazzard. However, we didn't WANT to kill everything - we HAD to. Let's hope that he is understanding about the whole thing.

We've even resorted to talking about what-ifs. We didn't want to buy a house that had a ton of work. If we had known the yard was in this sad state of repair, we probably wouldn't of bought it. We would have AT LEAST not spent our income taxes on a fridge and kept renting one until the yard was fixed.

We got a new phone number for a lanscaping company called 3 Men and a Shovel. They might be willing to help. We're hoping they will help for a decent price.

Just a lot of messes.
